Earlier this week GoVandals.net reported that Puyallup High (Wash.) speedster JUSTIN VELTUNG had made a verbal commitment to Robb Akey and the University of Idaho. Sporting a swift 4.39-forty and a penchant for the endzone, he was named an All-League selection at three positions, and was also named to the All-Area Team as a return specialist, despite missing the last half of the '08 season.

Two years ago, first-year head coach Robb Akey offered hard-hitting Shadow Ridge High School (Nevada) linebacker KOREY TOOMER a scholarship to Idaho. Now, after spending two years at Arizona Western college honing his skills (3 INTs in the Matadors 4-4 defense), Toomer is againbeing recruited to Idaho and has an offer from the Vandals, and is planning an official visit to Moscow in January.

"I'd like to hurry up and make one," Trufant said of making a commitment. "I'd like to know where I'm going so I don't have to worry about recruiting everyday. I'm fortunate to be in this position. I'm not complaining but I'd like to decide soon, but I won't make a commitment until I take another official visit." Washington, Washington State and Colorado could get January trips.
