·Hamilton Finishes Just Behind The Iceman
No gear box problems for Raikkonen in the second free practise session meant that he took first place in the afternoon. Hamilton was hot on his heels though and was only 0.036s short of beating him to it. A great performance from Coulthard demoted Kovalainen to fifth.
·Stimson expects more departures
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has told Gillingham supporters to expect more departures from the club during the summer, after The Gills boss released six members of his squad last week. The Gillingham manager also admitted that although star players Andrew Crofts and Simon King have vowed to stay at the club, Stimson insists that both players have a price.
·McLaren Second and Third in First Free Practise
Things got off to a slow start in Istanbul this morning due to a damp track. It wasn't the rain that caused the hold up though. The track was slow in being cleared. The damp patches resulted in no one going out for a lap for the first forty minutes of the session. Many cars had spun offs even after the wait.
·Miller to be fit for pre-season
Gillingham physio Mark Smith has revealed that midfielder Adam Miller should be fit for pre-season following surgery on his groin injury. Miller had struggled to complete a full game towards the end of the season, but held off having the operation to play through the pain barrier to help in The Gills' unsuccessful battle against the drop.

At the unexpectedly cold Istanbul Park the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers were 12th and 6th (Robert Kubica) and 7th and 10th (Nick Heidfeld) respectively in the first Free Practice sessions for the Turkish Grand Prix. In the morning session Kubica only completed seven laps due to a mechanical problem with the rear suspension.

In the second practice session for the Turkish Grand Prix, held at the "Istanbul Speed Park", the BMW Sauber F1 Team pairing executed an extensive preparation programme. By the end of the day, Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld had completed a total of 60 laps.

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has revealed that striker Gary Mulligan has told him that he wants to leave Priestfield to stay in League One. The twenty-three-year-old Irishman told the Gillingham manager that he doesn't want to drop a division following the clubs relegation toLeague Two.
